Seventies-Eighties
I photographed extensively from the mid-seventies to the end of the eighties. The end of that period coincided with my move to Switzerland and not coincidentally to no longer having a darkroom. I have thousands of images from this period – mostly black and white negatives but also some color transparencies – which miraculously survived our disastrous house fire in 2014. I am in the slow process of scanning the negatives and slides and producing digital images from them. These are now historical documents of a bygone, more carefree era which I treasure, captured memories of people, places and attitudes, many of which have long since disappeared. Do you detect a trace of nostalgia here? Yes.
